To advance education for the public benefit, particularly for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people, including but not limited to Looked After Children, children experiencing trauma, and children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), through the provision of personalised tutoring, reading clubs, educational consultancy, trauma-informed support, and professional development in educational support for vulnerable learners.
Our charitable objects define the purpose for which Thrive Education exists. Everything we do must further these objects and serve the public benefit. Our focus on advancing education for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people ensures that our work directly benefits those who face the greatest barriers to educational success.
Children in the care of Local Authorities who require specialist educational support and mentoring.
Children who have experienced trauma, adverse childhood experiences, or significant loss and disruption.
Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities who require personalised educational support.
Young people facing barriers to educational achievement due to poverty, inequality, or other circumstances.
We pursue our charitable purpose through a range of activities designed to advance education for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people:
All registered charities must demonstrate that their work is for the public benefit. Thrive Education meets the public benefit test in the following ways:
We provide clear, identifiable benefits (educational support, tutoring, mentoring) to our beneficiaries.
Our benefits are available to a significant section of the public (vulnerable and disadvantaged young people across South and West Yorkshire).
We prioritize support for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people, demonstrating a clear public benefit focus.
We do not exist to benefit private individuals or shareholders. Any surplus is reinvested in our charitable purpose.
We measure the impact of our work through a range of outcomes, including:
Improvements in literacy, numeracy, and subject knowledge for young people we work with.
Increased school attendance and engagement in education for vulnerable young people.
Improved emotional wellbeing, resilience, and confidence for young people experiencing trauma.
Better educational outcomes and progression to further education, training, or employment.
